Workshops by Practical Homestead Economics

Did you know that our Rachel (Ray) is a traditional skills educator? Ray has spent the past 8 years studying the old ways as a means to connect with her lineage and landscape. What would her ancestors have used for foods and medicine? What came with them as settlers? How did they clothe themselves, what were their fibres? This spring/summer, Rachel is sharing some of what she’s learned so far. Here’s what she’s sharing with you.
“What a Friend We Have in Nature” plant walk series. - Saturdays July 12th, August 2nd, September 6th, October 4th. By donation
Join Rachel for a guided walk around the woods and gardens as she speaks to some of the histories and uses of seasonal wild plants both native and introduced. Each scheduled walk will focus on one or two plants through a historical, practical and numinous lens. Our walks will close with a wild forage tea.
Donations will be used to maintain and upgrade our outdoor educational facilities and scholarships to support folks in attending other workshops. Register here,
