These days, it's more of a challenge for bees to flourish. Last winter was particularly difficult, a "perfect storm" of bad weather, virulent mites, and other environmental factors. Pollinators are crucial for the health of our environment, and bees make delicious honey as well. Topsy Farms' bees live in several locations around the farm, exposed to clover, vetch, crabapple trees, and cultivated gardens. Our dedicated team of beekeepers make sure the hives have food in the shoulder seasons, are well-wrapped in the winter, and provide room to grow. The primary method of mite control is formic acid, an organic non-chemical treatment. To learn more about the bees at Topsy, check out our videos.
By digitally adopting a Topsy bee, you're helping us keep activities like our farmyard bee-venture free for everyone. You'll receive a digital Happy Bee sticker, and if you've placed an order you'll also get an actual sticker. Donations of $50 or more will receive a digital adoption certificate. Thank you for your support.
